Kindy Girdley

Kindy was one of the first people I met when I moved to Nashville in 2009. She was working at a store called Bella Boutique, and I was immediately drawn to her confidence and style. We got to know each other better at random parties because we would always end up in a corner, talking and talking. We both love hiking, we both love eating well, and we both love an afternoon cocktail. After a few years of being close, Kindy came to visit me in Maine, my beloved spiritual home, and she became a part of my family. She loved the place as much as I do, and I didn’t think that was possible. Kindy and I are just drawn to the same things.

Kindy is an incredible personal chef and nutritionist. She understands that feeling good in your body is essential to basic happiness, as is food tasting good. I was one of her clients during a time when taking care of myself was challenging, and Kindy (along with the therapist she introduced me to) nursed me back to health. I am eternally grateful.

Last year, she launched Revel and extended her healing powers to bath oils, foods and many other products that I invite you to look into. Her products are small batch and extraordinary, making the world a little bit better for all of us.

This week, it's my honor to introduce you to Kindy--beautiful, kind and healing Kindy.

What is your idea of happiness?

To be enveloped by nature, creating and growing.

What trait do you most love about yourself?

My ability to nurture others and, most recently, myself.

What trait do you most love in others?

Kindness.

Name one thing you're proudest of.

My businesses and the ability to stretch and grow within them.

I was the first organic + locally sourced caterer in Nashville, then I offered an organic meal delivery service before it was so widely offered, personal chef services that specialized in accommodating those with food sensitivities, restrictions and allergies. Now I have shifted what I offer and with my new company, Revel, I am working one on one with clients to create a balanced mind, body and spirit, collectively. Beauty and wellness apothecary products and will soon be offering workshops around all things women’s wellness. I am very excited about this new chapter!

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

My dad always told me not to judge another because you can always learn something from everyone.

Tell us your best beauty secret.

Self-confidence.

What is your favorite thing to do when nothing is being asked of you?

Being quiet in nature, surrounded by the forest and its inhabitants.

What is your dream vacation?

Ohhh there are so many destinations on my list! I would say spending the summer in an old chateau in the French countryside, close to the sea and forest so I could bike there. Creating, daydreaming, immersing myself in nature, and having nothing to do but nurture and nourish myself.

What fragrance can you not live without?

Molecule 1.
